Shocks is the project of northern Italian DJ / producer Wanmhope along with his occasional partner-in-crime Max Dolphy. The pair create chugging leftield cosmic disco with dense layers of sound. While fundamentally simple in approach, the dynamic maintains a deceivingly complex harmony and disharmony rendering a visceral, sometimes violent listening experience. Waves of feedback, distortion, frantic guitar noodling, vocal collages and field recordings soar like an ominous cloud over primitive, hedonistic rhythms. This, the first of two Shocks 12" EPs preceding their full-length CD, sets the tone, serving as your aperitif before the main meal.
